Selling Sunset stars Emma Hernan and Nicole Young are at each other's throats because Nicole spread affair rumors about Emma, and now, they're battling it out online. The post-season part of their feud has been intense, with Chrishell Stause getting into the action. Chrishell loves Emma - they're really close, and that's why she called Nicole a
"snake"
during an E Online interview. Now, Emma and Nicole are fighting it out with "receipts" on Instagram. Both have produced screenshots, and it's time to talk about what they mean.
The Selling Sunset Affair Rumor Drama Was Intense
Nicole Really Stirred The Pot
In case reality TV fans didn't watch Selling Sunset season 8, the feud started when Nicole began to spout off about another woman's personal life while the cameras rolled. Obviously, spreading a rumor that someone's sleeping with a married man is going to do some damage. Nicole felt she wasn't wrong to share the gossip as she claimed that a friend of the scorned wife in question confronted Emma about the affair during an un-aired party scene from season 8. This scandal wreaked havoc - there wasn't even a reunion episode because the bad blood was overflowing.
What To Know About Emma's Receipts
She Says They Prove The Affair Rumor Was False
Emma pulled out the big guns on Instagram, aiming straight at her enemy Nicole. In the screenshot shown above, Nicole chats with her "source," talking about the fallout from mentioning the affair rumor. Her "source" doesn't like what Nicole's saying, and advises her to "diffuse" the situation. The source also states:
It wasn't an affair.
The snippets of the conversation seem to show that the affair rumor was false, unless the "source" is trying to tell Nicole how to lie her way out of the situation. For total clarity, all the messages would need to be seen. Emma's selectively showing two messages that seem to fit her narrative. That's what people tend to do. However, there is a chance that the source was coming up with a "story" that Nicole could tell, to get herself out of the mess.
What To Know About Nicole's Receipts
Nicole's Trying To Shed Her Villain Label
Nicole is unapologetically herself, but maybe apologizing would be better than what she's doing in the IG post shown above. She's basically giving her haters the finger with the caption: "I said what I said." That isn't her "receipts" post - she saved that for her Instagram Stories. Emma went low in the Instagram post shared earlier in the article, shading Nicole for doing a dirty deed in a "pathetic and desperate attempt at a storyline." Ouch.
So, Nicole fought back, even though she probably knows that she's going to be blamed for this drama for all of eternity. She started off defensive, using the royal "we" in reference to Emma's screenshot post. Via Stories, Nicole stated:
“Since we are posting screenshots now, you all should have the full context.”
Then, she really went off. She added screengrabs of the allegedly scorned wife, Jennifer. She said that she texted with her after filming the show's seventh installment. Apparently, that female found Selling Sunset's Emma Hernan and discussed her concerns about a possible affair with her. Emma gave Jennifer the impression that she'd take legal action if the affair rumor stuff was shown on Selling Sunset. Ultimately, the scene featuring the confrontation wasn't aired.
The drama is out of control and this wildfire may burn for a long time. Selling Sunset's Nicole Young possibly burned some bridges. The series is an over the top show, but this stuff was nastier than the usual feuds. Only the drugs accusation against Nicole was really on this level of tastelessness. While the proof is convincing, it's not totally conclusive. So, the jury is still out. However, Emma does seem to be telling the truth about not having an affair.
